Job burnout? Burning out? Have burnt? Cool down!

Do you feel tired? Real fatigued and worn out? Even on Mon or even on Sun or Sat too?
Oh poor you. Looks like you’re truly devoted to what you are doing.
While you haven’t dropped from tiredness and can read, let’s outline a self-repair plan.
1. Take a deep breath. Breathe out fully. Repeat 5 times. … Good.
2. Now let’s imagine a couple of scenarios. Warning: the below may be destructive for your dedication and commitment to your career. Use with caution!
a) Imagine you got sick. Nothing serious but got in hospital for 3 weeks. When you are back — healthy and fresh — you get to know that they’ve got a replacement. You are not needed. You may go.
b) Imagine they’ve screwed up. The contract is lost. You get a short notice. You’re not needed. They let you go.
c) Imagine they’ve found a way to optimize. First, they hire a couple of smart graduates. They are real motivated guys. Not too experienced (yet) but very keen to learn. And cheap. Second, they open an office in off-shore. That folks are very good and cost-effective. Third, you get your notice. Good luck.
3. Now let’s think of positive things.
a) If you take even only 1 (one) hour a day out of your work you can give this time to your family, your friends and poor yourself — to pursue your dreams and passions.
b) Saving energy on your work, you gain force to try other things. What if you discover new options and opportunities for yourself?
c) Reducing workload, you fight stress. It makes your body healthier, yourself happier and your forehead less wrinkled.
4. Take a deep breath again. Breath out fully. Repeat a few times. OK.
5. Now plan for a lazy (real lazy) evening. Remember that movie you thought was funny but not worth your time? Or maybe a printed magazine that caught your eye? Or maybe just go to bed early and sleep, sleep and sleep? Yes. You can choose anything that would usually make you feel guilty for not being busy.
Planned? Put it in practice today — or tomorrow if it’s late today as you need to allocate an entire evening for the exercise.
Just do it; it’s always scary to leave a warm habitual sweatshop. Think: it’s warm because of folks like you burning out.
