Where’s my motivation gone?

Getting nervous on Sunday evening. Making yourself get up early on Monday. Making coffee, getting better. Just a little better. Walking out. Driving to the office. Getting late. Who cares! Late? Who cares! Hate this job.

That’s extreme.

More often we are simply not excited. We don’t hate our job but also don’t love it. Just doing it because we have to, have bills to pay, have family, have to work for living. And the job is what we know, were doing for some time. It feels safe.

In fact, no job is exiting on its own and no one of us is always motivated and brisk. How we feel about our job, environment and the entire life direction is pretty much dictated by our mindset.

Surprisingly, the transition between dull and bright is easy and fast — when you know the right way. But the way is not one fits all. You need to discover or build (yes!) your own quick shortcut towards you, happy and motivated.

Here is a recipe: learn one new thing daily. That may be anything — just it must be a new idea, skill, kind of information.

Make it targeted. Say, if your motivation problems are workwise, then the new stuff should be related to your professional area.

But avoid narrowing your focus. Your motivation has gone to pursue new opportunities and is probably waiting for you around the corner. Broaden your learning.

That’s all — the trick is simple. Just do it daily for at least 2 weeks, until you get it into a habit ;-)

Good luck finding your motivation!
